Questions for our possible venues : Poly

How many people can the venue hold?

It seems that there are many many classrooms across multiple buildings. It should grow to whatever size we want.

Is there a large space for opening / closing events?

Yes, there is a large Auditorium.

How many people can it hold.

?

Is there wifi?

?

Advice from Whitney:

These questions are based on those we needed answered at one point or another at Drexel; They are merely informational so everyone knows what the facilities "come with" versus what we'll need to crowd source. (PS I have a potential sponsor for things like projectors that helped us out in philly for free)

Do the different buildings belong to different departments? Does this mean coordinating with different tech people, etc.?

How close together can we keep everyone? How spread out is it going to get?

Food service- in university catering alone, or can we bring in something like coffee & donuts from outside?

Sponsor tables/hanging signs/covers for tables- what comes with, what's an extra cost?

Are classrooms equipped for recording?

Do they come with projectors, etc. or will we need to supply this type of stuff?

Do they have built in sound systems and mics or will we need to supply them?

Maximum number of classrooms- how many can we have in each building?

Food service/amenities on weekends?

Costs for security, cleanup, insurance/deposits, etc.

Parking if any?

Storage for gear/sponsor stuff etc. over night?

BarCamp NYC 3 question: What dates are available?

GoRuCo Conference Questions

Thanks for letting us tack on additional questions. We are looking for a venue to support a 1-track conference setting for 200-300 people, our questions are:

  • We are an actual paid conference - is this ok with the school, or does the school only work with non-profits?
  • Can we use one auditorium all day? What is the capacity of the auditorium?
  • All the A/V questions above
  • Are there catering services available or will we need to provide them? We want to provide breakfast, lunch, and coffee service
  • Is there a large room off of the auditorium that we could use for meals, registration, and just general milling about?
  • Is there WiFi that can handle 300 people?
  • What is the base price for a conference like this?
  • Are any Saturdays in April available?

Thanks.
